Our Seal Refurbishment Procedure Explained

Mechanical seals to be refurbished are first stripped and ultrasonically cleaned. A visual inspection is then carried out with all components to be replaced separated and tagged.

All replaceable components not eliminated by a visual inspection are then checked against the relevant drawing and or specifications to ensure that they conform and are repairable.

After lapping, all faces are checked by the lapping technician to ensure they are flat to a tolerance of one to two light bands (0.0000235").

During final assembly all components are given a visual inspection prior to assembly.

After final assembly all refurbished seals are again inspected and pressure tested if necessary. We pressure test all cartridge seats (new & refurbished), prior to despatch.
